A Star is Born

This time last year, I gave birth to my third baby… Elle Rose. I’ll go on record as saying that the third time is truly a charm. I make jokes frequently that she is my favorite but it’s really the truth haha. (shhhh) Perhaps because she is the baby and they say that the puppy is always the favorite… makes sense, or maybe she really is! Guess we will see next time around and yes, most likely, there will be a next time. My husband desperately wants a boy which means, we will have another g i r l. I’d be thrilled.

I never knew how great it would feel to create a family and to literally manifest my favorite people. Each child of mine is so unique and special and it’s fun to think this is how we all feel! One of my favorite parts of growing up thus far is watching all of our friends begin their families and experience the joy that comes along with new babies. Genuine happiness and joy is really wonderful to behold.

These photos I thought I would share because they were taken just a few days after we came home from the hospital. I had grand plans of getting really beautiful newborn shots like these moments after delivery, even had my photographer waiting at the hospital, but for those of you who are fellow C-section mothers, you know that I was probably getting a little bit ahead of myself ha.

I know as time passes, these photos will become more precious. There is nothing like the magic and energy that comes along with birthing a baby. This time in my life is already my favorite and I can’t wait to do it again. I know what a blessing it is to have three beautiful healthy children.

Elle has brought me the sweetest joy over the last year. I do attachment parenting, co-sleeping and I breastfeed on demand so we have been quite close for the last 365 days. As we begin the weaning process and I ready her to sleep solo, I will be sad to leave this sweet stage behind in what feels like a time capsule. When I look back on these I hope to always remember the feelings I have now.
