Beach Baby

Shopping swimwear for little girls can get a little wild these days! I, for one, would like for my little angels to continue looking like little angels at the beach. This means, they will only be allowed to wear one-piece suits for the rest of their lives:)

Having redhead babies is already tricky enough because we have restrictions on which colors are most flattering with bright hair. I am constantly on the lookout for shades that work and buy for years to come when I come across a suit that is darling. Thank goodness, I have two little girls, so my youngest will reap the benefits of some really great hand me downs.

This year, an Eberjey opened across the street from my house at Lido Marina Village. This is very dangerous because their pieces are so cute especially for little girls. We have their loungewear, swimsuits and cover-ups. They came out with a darling white toddler one piece with kick lace detailing that I could not resist. They have the matching suit for moms too but it will be a cold day in you know where before I am in a white swimsuit at the beach. For our tan friends, this could be a winning mommy and me combo. Eberjey also has the cutest mommy and me bracelets… They are around $100 so you don’t want to lose this one, but they are darling and look really cute when headed to the beach.

One of my best friends, Oleema Miller, owns and designs MIKOH Swimwear. Her MIKOH MINI line of suits is the very best out there for little girls. She’s doing clothing too soon and I cannot wait to have one of everything:) Scarlett actually resists with great passion when I try to put on any suit other than her MIKOH striped one piece. It’s her favorite suit hands down. It’s a similar cut to the Eberjey suit – so, I have to say, I’m a big fan. The other suits are just as fun. The hardest decision to make is how many will you order because you will want them all. They are worth every penny. Also, FYI, she has amazing trunk shows and warehouse sales where you can score suits for $15 and less !

J. Crew and J.Crew Factory never disappoint when it comes to swim. I have always loaded UP at both of these online shops. Soooo many cute suits this year. I just bought a gingham two piece on sale at the Factory for $12!!

Stella McCartney -children swim- will not fail you, especially if you’re looking for fun in your swimwear. You will pay more for this name but her designs are worth it. I don’t like to have the same baby Gap suit every kid on earth is wearing in summer and Stella always does a killer job at staying youthful, funky and fun in all the right ways with color and pattern that even a redhead can wear.

Old Navy is the deal of the century. Their suits are always dirt cheap (even full price). Gap/Old Navy go on sale 40-60% off once a week it feels like, so you can get their suits for a STEAL. Most of them, I have to say, are not worth much. However, if you keep checking in, you’ll find suits that are so cute, on trend and sell out fast. Sidenote – their bottoms are really big and oddly shaped so its worth it to spend the money you saved on altering the bottoms to fit your little angels.

Zara can sometimes have a gem in the swim department. Most of their suits are licensed weird characters on them etc but some of their suits can be so stinking darling! Also, a great price point.

Bonpoint is my favorite. If you know me, this comes as no surprise. The girls have the sweetest terry robe cover ups to wear at the beach that are so prim and proper, I love them. Cozy, fluffy and white, it makes your baby look just as she should after a dip in the ocean!

Last but certainly not least, Minnow Swimwear. I want everything in this line for the girls and I want them to match! I’m obsessed with the cuts and the patterns. My friend surprised me last year with matching suits for the girls from this brand and this year, they are living in them. I can’t get enough!! Thank you again Wendy;)

In addition, my friend Ljuba, has a baby sling line and carries the best little beach baskets and such in her online marketplace called, Beachwood Baby. We always use our baskets from BWB and they are a GREAT price point. An unbelievably easy price point – makes for cute gift too.
