One of the best aspects of living in Southern California is that our weather can’t be beat. Especially this time of year- the crowds have gone back to school and the beaches belong to the locals again. Our Indian Summers provide at least three additional months to the traditional summer which is great for obvious reasons.
There are endless amounts of outdoor activities to enjoy as a family and it’s especially nice when you can do an activity -on the water- that also counts as exercise. Our good friends, Mike and Lauren Roberts, were kind enough to let us take out some of their new VESL paddle boards for an early evening family date with a few of our favorite groms and two little redhead girls in tow.
Talk about winning the mom game – The moms stayed back and socialized while the dads took the kids out in the water on the paddle boards for some exercise. What mom doesn’t appreciate when dad is on duty and the kids are also having a great time? Not to mention, Jacquelyn of Beijos had a table set that was to die for cute because she doesn’t do it any other way and fed us beautiful food = winning.
The acai bowls and sashimi from Colette’s were as good as they looked and hit the spot for the parents and hungry hippos when they got out of the water. The mood was set by Stelle Audio as this playlist packed a punch perfect for an early evening at sea.
Gratitude is a practice and that night we didn’t have to try very hard. It feels so good to have friends that we love- some old and some new- and so nice to collectively appreciate where we live.
