There is a very intricate way to making the home feel like the holidays in style. Every woman has her own way of doing things to make the house feel magical. Of course, we wanted to know from one of our favorite interior designers, Kelly Nutt, how she makes the home feel like Christmas.

What is Christmas like at your house?
Christmas Eve is traditionally our big night we have a big dinner and open a few gifts. We all get new Pjs and go to midnight mass.

How do you like to decorate?
I love fresh greens and paper whites.

What are some stylish tips to keep the house festive but not distasteful?
Zinc antique tubs with Charlie Brown Christmas trees and fresh mixed greens in clear glass vases.

What is your favorite kind of Christmas tree?
Noble fir.

What are some of your family holiday traditions?
Getting the tree the first week of December and decorating the tree together as a family.

Give us an idea on how to decorate a table for entertaining guests during this season…
Mixed greens, pinecones candles and bells are always a win.

What are some stylish gifts to give as a hostess gift or otherwise that also has a festive feel to it?
A nice bottle of red wine or a beautiful antique cutting board for great cheese platters.

How do you make a home feel the Christmas magic?
Lot’s of fresh greens and a lightly flocked Christmas tree is a new favorite of mine. My tree has ornaments that are collected over the years which brings the most magic!

What kind of decor should we be doing on the outside of the home?
Gorgeous wreath on the front door and white lights.

Do you have a favorite Christmas candle?
Nest Christmas candle is yummy!

What about a favorite Christmas playlist?
Michael Buble…

How do you celebrate Christmas morning and Christmas Eve?
Christmas morning we open gifts and have brunch and spend time family. Christmas night we have a big dinner my brother in law makes since he is the best chef and open gifts.

What do you want for Christmas?
I would love a new handbag 🙂

What do your kids want for Christmas?
Grant would love some new golf clubs and Caroline would love a new purse and clothes.
