Norelle & Holiday

For many of us, our firstborn child has THE most life-changing effect. Our hearts grow to a size we did not know was possible, our worries increase, our bank accounts decrease and our joy is infinitely increased..

I watched as this happened to my best friend almost five years ago. Her desire to have a baby was at an all time high and I could not have been happier to watch her become a mother for the first time.

It has been a joy to watch the way she loves Holiday. This mother daughter duo is inseparable. I was expecting a replica of my dark haired, light eyed, snow white beauty of a friend. Her blue eyed, fair haired child is a sight for sore eyes in her own right. She’s a feisty little Leo, born the day after my very own birthday.

Norelle said to me on the phone recently that having a daughter demands that you become the best version of yourself and I couldn’t agree more.

How old is your daughter and when is her birthday?

Holiday is four! Her birthday is July 25… a LEO.

How has life changed for you since becoming a mom?

My life has changed in so many ways, from the way I dress, to my social calendar, to the things I do “for fun”. The change from working girl to stay at home mom has been the biggest adjustment. Staying home is something I always wanted but I had no idea what I was in for. The endless mess, the playing, the crying, the extra luggage -including the child you take with you everywhere every day is a lot. Although I wouldn’t trade it, I sometimes question it. It is, by way, the hardest thing I have ever done.

What excites you most about motherhood?

The most exciting thing about motherhood for me is watching them discover the world, having them become these little people with wants, needs, desires, hopes and dreams. I love being there as the mama to helping them find their way. Healing my childhood wounds through their childhood highlights.

What does an ideal day with your daughter look like?

Our special place is definitely Disneyland; rides, snacks, princesses, a couple of shameless selfies = perfection.

What was the biggest surprise to you about having a daughter?

I was shocked at how extremely sensitive, soft, and cautious I’ve become when it comes to her. I also could not prepare myself for how much I love her.

How would you describe your personal style? Has it changed since becoming a mom?

Casual is my jam; jeansteescut off shorts, tennies, sandals, and flowy everything. I also have this thing with floral. Not sure if it’s a good thing? My husband thinks not:)

What pieces for both yourself and Holiday are on your want/need list?

I really want the Beach Riot Poppy lace up one piece swimsuit. I also saw these floral (duh) bellbottoms for Holiday that she “needs”.

What’s your beauty routine like?

My beauty routine….
I wash my face with Epicuren herbal face wash
Moisturize with Purpose face lotion
Conceal under my eyes (because duh I have 3 kids) with Benefit Boi-ing 01
NARS pressed powder in Figi
NARS blush duo in Orgasm and Laguna
Diorshow mascara in black
Lips- whatever I can grab:) Cinderella chapstick or some sort of MAC lip gloss
Hair is usually up; bun, braid or pony

What is your wellness routine?

Wellness for me is drinking enough water, walking outside at least 3 time a week for 30+ minutes with music or a podcast. I need time to unwind and decompress!
