VALENTINE BARBIE PARTY

Having two little girls with the last name Hart begs for an annual Valentine’s Day party. What kind of a mother would I be if I didn’t indulge in what the universe has so clearly laid out as my path?

This Christmas, we arrived at a milestone that I’ve been waiting for since the birth of my first daughter and that is what is known as the BARBIE milestone. This is a thrilling time for me to be alive because as a little girl, I can’t quite describe how much I loved Barbie. We dove in and I do mean WE lol. It’s been as much fun shopping for Barbies with Scarlett as I thought it would be and now, my baby Elle, one of her first words is Barbie. Dreams do come true ladies and gentlemen.

So, what better time to have a Barbie Valentine’s Day party then now?

Of course, I called upon my friend Jacquelyn from Beijos Events to help funnel through my ideas and supplement with her super cute suggestions. Since this wasn’t a birthday party, I opted for a really cool option they have where she can put together a mood board and send lists of suggestions on what to buy. The down side was that I had to put it allll together MYSELF. I had hives for weeks thinking about it but hey, with a little help from a reluctant husband, we did it!!

We just moved into a new home from the beach to suburbia so it was really fun to put every square inch of our new backyard to good use lol. We had 18 little girls and their mamas over to party with Barbie and from the looks of things, the girls had a really great time.

Heart shaped pizza was in order from my friend Stan’s pizza place, Sgt. Pepperoni! Rosé, salad and charcuterie was served for moms and a party wouldn’t be complete without a complete dessert bar, this time, from Sweet and Saucy Shop. My loving husband made the drive that morning to do the pickup where we also rented extra cake stands:)

Each girl received a pair of heart shaped glasses, her own personalized Barbie and, wait for it, a pink mini-clutch speaker from Stellé Audio. They were on cloud nine. This speaker can be bluetoothed to any iPhone or iPad/Pod and then plays music from the little handbag!! How Barbie does it get!? #winning.

Balloons were from the one and only WildChild Party in Long Beach. I had to pick them up in the Suburban and by some act of God, they fit. I love that little party shop so much, it’s so fun and I’m sorry, but a party ain’t a party unless there are copious amounts of balloons!!

Barbie came and did a super cute story, face paint and a pop music dance freeze game. She played Barbies with the Barbie Dream House and also posed with the girls in a Mattell Barbie box I rented for photo ops. So cute!! The girls loved it.

We also had a makeup station with a MAC makeup artist where the girls could get individual lashes, glitter, pink gloss and blush… like Barbie of course.
