A’maree’s Summer Style and Travel Guide

We stopped in to A’Maree’s and were in awe of the beautiful colors and fabrics that were were carefully curated throughout the store. The ladies of A’Maree’s share some of their favorites with AOBF as well as some of their favorite hotels, restaurants and stores in Paris, London, Milan and New York…

Tell us about this happy line that you’re wearing, MIRA MIKATI… I first saw it on Mimi and died for it. She wore it to a dinner series we were having with other stylish women and she really got my attention. The color, stitching and the design all just scream” happy” and these pieces are perfect for summer…

Mira Mikati is a London- based designer and began her collection after a collaboration with Parisian brand Façonnable. She really wanted to create “something fun that was also beautifully tailored”. Her jackets, pants and sweatshirts are covered with emojis, cartoons and playful graphics which makes this line a favorite. Fashion should be fun and this line certainly is.

She has a store called Plum and the line is so playful, she is an amazing mother who embraces her children’s world. She surfs and skates with them and lives in Venice, CA. I want to have her come down!

How do you think we should be incorporating color for summer? There seems to be a clear fit between warm weather and wearing a bit “louder” pieces… is that true?

We embrace color in our lifestyle. The sun and the light in the store makes color feel like a natural fit.

We love to pick pieces with a serious punch of color. They can be worn alone or they pair perfectly with more neutral pieces. We don’t necessarily believe in ”rules” for warm weather but we certainly are drawn to color in summer over and over again. You can feel safe in investing in pieces for summer with a punch of color.
What are some of your favorite summer staples?

Eres bathing suits, their cut is perfect. Love SALT. Optics eyewear, Thierry Colson summer cotton dresses, Daniela Gregis, Mira Mikati tunics…. and Dosa beach towels are amazing.

What should we wear on vacation? Dresses? Linen? How can we make sure we look chic but also feel comfortable?

We love a great maxi dress and/or tunic… they are classic body styles that provide ease and comfort and are also breezy but you don’t have to really think about them. They are a throw on piece that instantly elevates your look but really are some of the most comfortable and breathable pieces to own in summer. We love linen… Brock Collection has a beautiful coat perfect for evenings on the water. Kilometre, Denis Colomb also has easy linen tunics but also scarves and sarongs to go with. Eres bathing suits are great because you can wear them like a bodysuit with a skirt.

We love Chi-lin Pendergrast’s personal style. When we think of the A’maree’s shopper, we think of her and asked her to join us in the store to put summer looks together. She is unexpected, understated and very chic not to mention beautiful. She selected some great pieces and paired them in ways that are really fresh with her use of color and pattern. Tell us about this striped cover up, swimsuit and the dresses/looks she’s wearing… who makes them?

Eres bathing suit, Daniela Gregis striped cover up, Massimo Alba – dress and striped sweater, Sophie D’hoore sweater, Brock Collection skirt .

What are your favorite summer destinations when you go on vacation?

Greece- Patmos – Iliana Makri was the best host! And Hawaii…we always love the Big Island.

What is in your summer bag and what are a few summer products you can’t live without?

You have a dock in the back of the store on the bay for clients to pull up to, and you have your have your beautiful A’Maree’s boat docked out front. We love that you have that feature…that is something that not many high end boutiques can offer!

It’s a whole new avenue to be able to shop via a waterway- you can come by boat, dock and shop! We have clients that are out for a bay cruise and stop in-it’s a really nice feature! The men can enjoy a drink on the water while their wives shop… it’s quite nice.
