Flower Power || Thanksgiving Edition

The countdown to Thanksgiving is officially on. Less than a week away so we are really tightening up our game over here preparing for the big day. Hosting your family and friends on Thanksgiving is so special. It’s what family dreams are made of. I don’t know about you, but when I was younger, I would always fantasize about having lots of children, them growing up and all marrying people I love and having babies that I love more than all of them and wanting to see all their shining faces around my Thanksgiving table before we say grace. I’m not hosting this year, because we are moving December 1 (lucky me) so my house is in complete disarray, however, next year, I will host again and I’m already looking forward to it.

Any host knows that one of the most important aspects to any tablescape are the FLOWERS!!! You cannot, must not, skimp on flowers. There is nothing more sad than a table with a wimpy arrangement or worse just a few flowers scattered about. It’s important to really, really, do it up with flowers. If you’re not hosting, you need to bring flowers because the woman who is hosting your family deserves them. It’s a loooooot of work to put on any event in your home but especially the main event… Thanksgiving Dinner!

Petals and Pop is tucked away in “Lot 579” at Pacific City in Huntington Beach, their arrangements are wild and loose – very carefree and the perfect aesthetic for Thanksgiving.

You can choose the color story and texture along with the florist and direct them on how you want things arranged.

They have the perfect small hostess gifts, including a great selection of thoughtful, stylish books, treats and cards. Be sure to write a note thanking the hostess for all the trouble she went through. It’s the least you can do!

Not to mention, Petals and Pop also has a small champagne bar where you and a friend can enjoy a glass or two while they put your florals together and wrap your hostessing gifts. What a treat! It’s fun to come and enjoy the scenery for just a drink!

Love that their menus are on the library card inserts from books too… we are suckers for the details.

Moral of the story- if you’re hostessing, do not skimp on flowers. If you are attending, whatever you do, do not show up empty handed. Bring flowers and a gift. Even if it’s a small token of appreciation and gratitude, it’s an important gesture and does not go unnoticed or under-appreciated by your fellow female.
