Kale and Pineapple-Banana Smoothie

We all know that one of the easiest breakfasts or snacks to make is a smoothie, and here is our version of a combination that a lot of people may not think is possible…combining a green and a fruit that still tastes good! There are so many different combinations you can do, but if you have fussy eaters and want to sneak in some greens without the taste…this is the way to do it! The pineapple and juice masks the taste of the kale really nicely, which seems hard to believe seeing how green it is, you would think the kale taste would be more pronounced.

You can also add protein powder, collagen peptides, ashwaganda, flax seeds, maca powder, or any magic ingredient you have in your arsenal…just not too many or it will change the flavor!

For this smoothie, I wanted to try oat milk…it seems to be the newest milk gaining popularity and it really does taste good! It is vegan and a tasty alternative to dairy, almond or soy milk. You can find Oat-Ly! at Whole Foods or any of the larger markets, but you may use any of the milks for this recipe. Oat milk ( or your choice milk) fresh kale, pineapple, pineapple juice, and banana are all you’ll need.

Start by cutting up your fresh pineapple into small chunks. If your market doesn’t have fresh, you can buy the frozen pineapple or canned.

Add chopped pineapple, chopped kale, banana, pineapple juice and oat milk into the blender and blend for at least 30 seconds to 1 minute to give time to blend well. Then add in your additional ingredients if you are adding your protein powder, etc.
