TRAVEL DIARY: St. Barths

Recently, I was lucky enough to travel to St. Barths to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. While it was quite the trek to get there I have to admit it was well worth it. We flew from Los Angeles to Miami (stayed the night in Miami) then from Miami to St. Marteen and St. Marteen to St. Barths. In order to enter we had to show a negative COVID test within 72 hours of our arrival and then take another test upon departing. The island was amazing, the food was incredible and the weather was perfect! While there were some places we couldn’t go due to the pandemic (Nikki Beach) we definitely hit up all the best restaurants on the island. The nice part about St. Barths is the island is small, so everywhere is close. Each of these places is just a close car ride away from wherever you are staying!

We stayed at Cheval Blanc and it was absolutely dreamy! A 10/10 recommendation. To fit all 10 of us we rented the villa on the beach and the decor was beautiful.

Lunch:

Cheval Blanc La Cabane: Lunch directly on the sand at our hotel was one of my favorites. The food is incredible and you can’t beat the views.

Gyp Sea Beach: While it was storming here the day we went we still had a great time. Also a plus they have a great boutique. It was packed and still beautiful between the shower storms. After lunch we rented seabobs (basically an underwater scooter) and had a great time cruising around the bay.

Sand Bar at Eden Rock: I always love eating at other great hotels when traveling to check out different properties. Eden Rock is another beautiful hotel and lunch there was also fabulous. Fun people watching too!

Lil’ Rock: Another adorable restaurant on the beach with a beautiful view of crystal clear waters.

Shellona: On the last day we had lunch at Shellona which was one of my favorites. Great food and atmosphere with a gorgeous view of a calm bay.

Dinner:

L’Isola: We had dinner here the first night and the food was incredible. It was a nice Italian restaurant that was small inside but felt buzzy.

Bagatelle was so much fun to go to. (Similar to the original in New York) the music was loud and everyone was trying to dance (not allowed to due to the pandemic) but you can tell that the restaurant normally turns into a club at night. The food probably wasn’t my favorite from the trip but would definitely recommend going back just for a good time.

Tamarin: Loved the romantic, garden atmosphere of this restaurant!

La Guerite: We finished the trip with a night out at La Guerite. It had a similar vibe to Bagatelle with a live DJ playing throughout our meal.

Bonito: Known for their “Sex on the Beach” cocktail this Latin-French restaurant was one of my favorite meals. Their food was delicious and the restaurant was definitely “swanky” as Vogue describes it!
